Turn Your Script Into A Comic Book.
by Victor Phan
At Torture Chamber Productions, our core business revolves around creating comic books from original screenplays for producers or screenwriters to either use as marketing tools to shop around to financiers/production companies, or to sell to publishers/distributors for their own financial gain.

Ray Bradbury
by Mark Sevi

One of the first purchases I made that was on my own impetus and that didn’t involve an adult was to sign up for the Science Fiction Book Club. This was no casual thing since it meant I had to buy four books in two years - a burden that seemed overwhelming to a serious-minded youth but it meant I also got four books for free for signing up which made it worth the stress investment.

The first free book I chose was Ray Bradbury’s “Twice 22" a short story collection that had been in publication for a while but I had never read. All I knew was it sounded cool.

Midnight in Paris
by Gustavo Sainz

Summer in the city. Being on vacation in the nation's capital is a nice change from the Orange County scene. Of course the small streets and bad parking of D.C. reminds me of Venice or Santa Monica by the beach, but with a more Euro flair..

A Theatre Apart - The Regency South Coast Village

In Los Angeles, there are several choices in which to see classic films and small-venue or foreign films. In Orange County there is one: The Regency South Coast Village Theatre located across from South Coast Plaza.

The Regency South Coast Village is a theatre unlike any other. It's the respectful attitude the Regency chain, managed by OCSWA member Larry Porricelli, has toward both the cutting edge films of today and the classics of yesteryear.

The Regency group also features the amazing Lido Theatre in Newport Beach, a gem with a balcony and a history as long as Orange County. Now with 3D capabilities and a spanking sound system that will rattle your fillings.

We at The Orange County Screenwriters Association are proud to be associated with The Regency South Coast Village Theatre and the Regency group including their newest incredible movie experience in San Juan Capistrano, the Regency Franciscan which takes movie watching to a whole new level.

Please join us in supporting a truly unique theatre group.

A writer—at least this writer—measures his career not so much in terms of years as in individual moments. They are the good moments: the big sale, the well-received show, the award at the end of the year. The television playwright must savor his success and his good moments very hurriedly, because they’re temporal at best. But the bad moments—his failures, the script rejections, the incisively bad reviews—cling to him with much more tenacity and for longer periods than the moderate successes ~ Rod Serling

The process of writing cannot be juggled with another occupation. The job of creating cannot be compartmentalized with certain hours devoted to one kind of creation and other hours set aside for still another. Writing is a demanding profession and a selfish one. And because it is selfish and demanding, because it is compulsive and exacting, I didn’t embrace it. I succumbed to it. ~ Rod Serling
