Writers, directors, producers, actors, editors, make-up - ALL are welcome!
Bring your business cards and your good spirits.

Help us stage a great event by going to our MeetUp page and RSVPing so we know how many are coming. Not necessary but appreciated.
To our younger members: you're welcome to the Ritz but an I.D. is required for drinks.
So what is a "Meetup?"
The Orange County Screenwriters Association is more than writers; we're film people working (or trying to work) in all phases of the film industry. There are amateurs who are just starting out as well as professionals who work in and understand the business.
Writers, directors, producers, actors, editors...we have the entertainment business in common. And we all have a hunger for interaction on the basis of that shared interest, both social and professional.
Why not share that common interest and good industry information on a one-to-one basis in a gorgeous, casual setting? That's a Meetup. Got it? Good. Then come and do just that!
This is a BYOD affair (Buy Your Own Drinks) - The Ritz is working with us to get us a good price on the drinks so don't worry if money's a bit tight. And the night itself is absolutely free!
When: Wednesday, June 23, 2010
6:30pm-9:30pm
Where: The Ritz Restaurant
880 Newport Center Dr, Newport Beach, CA 92660
(949) 720-1800 (map)
How much: Free.
To our younger members, you are welcome to the Ritz but please remember that you must have a valid I.D. to drink.

Who's Coming? Just a few names...
A working video shop with dozen of productions, Lennexe Productions always features the highest quality professional work. Eric Hensman, owner/operator, has been a member of the OCSWA board almost from the beginning and our organizations' collaborations have proven to be amazingly creative and beneficial to all involved.
Come meet Eric and his crew including professional editor, Itai Levin and Toby Wallwork, who just finished some freelance work at ChopShop for the Newport Beach Film Festival.
The Media Alliance of Orange County (MAOC) is composed of working professionals whose skills range from audio and video production to music composition, voice talent and much more.
These consumate pros include Orange County Film Commissioner Janice Arrington.
Our collaboration with them at the Bowers Museum was a wonderful event! Find out why.
Larry Porricelli has been involved in some of the OC's most memorable film moments. Currently, this icon of the theater business is with the Regency chain of theaters that is now featuring one of the country's state of the art venues, The Regency Franciscan Theater, now open in San Juan Capistrano.
Larry (and perhaps Regency Theater chain owner Lyndon Golin) will be there.
Entertainment columist Gary Lycan has been part of the Orange County film, radio and journalism scene for over 40 years. He knows everyone in this business.
After 40+ years in the biz, he continues to write the radio column for the OC Register and manage to stay as active as ever in the entertainment community.
Come chat him up for some insider tips and connections.
Radio/TV personality Manny Pacheco has written a fantastic book on Hollywood and its place in the history of the world.
A 28-year member of the Screen Actor’s Guild, and a member of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and Pacific Pioneer Broadcasters, Manny recently wrote an article about his experiences at the 2008 Screen Actors Guild Awards that appeared on a blog at L.A. Radio.com.
Grab Manny and have him tell you why knowing the past is essential to understanding the present.
Gaming guru Matt Scott whose company Game Machine (formerly Manifest Games) has been responsible for the online games based on the blockbuster flms "Monsters and Aliens," "Kung Fu Panda," "Sherlock Holmes Mystery," and many others will be there circulating and trying to figure out his next world conquest.
He's a highly-creative, computer genius (just don't tell him I said so) and a OCSWA board member.
Come meet him.
Writer, editor, comic artist, teacher - what doesn't Victor Phan do?
He's currently sold his script "A Taste For Blood" and is working on at least five other projects simultaneously with his company Torture Chamber Productions.
Interestingly enough, Victor is also a mixed martial artist. Come grapple with him and force him to tell you how he's been so successful at such a young age.
He is also a OCSWA board member.
Come meet him.
MORE PEOPLE/ORGS ADDED DAILY!
GORGEOUS!
A NEW THEATER OPENS IN SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO.
Opening in May 2010, the brand new Regency San Juan Capistrano Theater boasts four auditoriums - three auditoriums downstairs with stadium-seating and a VIP auditorium upstairs with tiered-seating, leather chairs and in-seat dining.
Stepping into the Regency San Juan Capistrano Theater is like stepping into a scene right out of the classic film Casablanca, with its Moroccan motif and large mural on the second floor featuring Humphrey Bogart.
Another great feature at the theater is the addition of Rick’s Café, a beer and wine bar with great concession items for your dining pleasure. When you visit the Regency San Juan Capistrano Theater, it’s more than just going to see a movie; it’s a complete entertainment experience
